CAD/GIS Technician I, II & III

Department: Outside Plant

Reports To: Director - Outside Plant

General Summary

Prepares drawings for engineering, commercial and office projects. Utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software to prepare layouts and detail drawings. Utilizes Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software to prepare GIS files and maps. Utilizes Facilities Management software to prepare as built drawings and files for use in ongoing OSP operations. Prepares working plans and complete drawings, working from rough and detailed sketches. Develops and maintains a filing system for copies of engineering drawings and related materials.

 
 

Engineer I, II & III

Department: Outside Plant / Network Design

Reports To: VP - Outside Plant / VP - Network Design

General Summary

Plans and prepares drawings for design and/or construction of new and existing telecommunication facilities.

Work may involve removal or rearrangement of existing aerial and underground lines, cables and conduits. Analyzes network capacity, available and existing line counts, and forecasts or estimates projected network capacity based on desired service offerings to determine new construction or rearrangements and removals required. Selects routing of lines and determines equipment requirements. Prepares detailed construction and installation drawings and estimates equipment, labor, and material costs. Prepares details plans and specifications for telecommunications electronics equipment.

 

Inspector

Department:Outside Plant

Reports To:Director - Outside Plant

General Summary

Verifies conformance of constructed telecommunications facilities to all elements of plans and specifications for telecommunications construction projects, including fiber and copper cable and splices, pedestals, hand holes, manholes, handling techniques for fiber and copper cable, site cleanup and tracks receipt of all required permits, easements, cable locates and Right of Way prior to construction. Knowledge of both aerial and buried cable construction. Makes site inspections to Uses prescribed safety equipment and procedures. Records as built data and communicates deviations from plans and specifications to Resident or supervisor. Specifically excludes supervision of any construction contractor or client staff or participation in any construction activity. Creates staking sheets during pre-construction design activities.

 

Outside Plant Project Manager I, II & III

Department:Outside Plant

Reports To:VP - Outside Plant or Director - Outside Plant

General Summary

This position exists to effectively initiate, plan, execute, control and close projects assigned. This position exists to ensure the proper oversight and management of all aspects of assigned projects including integration, scope, time, cost, quality, staff resources, communications, risk and procurement while maintaining quality standards, controlling expenses, and following company policies and practices.

OSP Engineering and/or ISP Engineering experience a plus. Strong MS Excel skills and ability to facilitate and work with very large data tracking tools, MS Project experience is desired. Must have strong client management and interface skills (documentation and in person). Will interact with client management, contractor management and FARR management and staff.

 

Resident
